I love your videos! I have two fillies by Grindstone, one won at Arlington last week.

Mike Smith moved way too early on Unbridled’s Song. He didn’t have a chance after that.

I love this derby, real battle to the end, also it set up the unlucky stud Unbridled to be 2nd horse who produced 1 winner in each of the Tripple Crown races: Grindstone, Red Bullet, Empire Maker: the only other horse who did it, is his grandsire the one and only Mr. Prospector

toughest picture finish loss i have ever had.

very strong field, skip Away, L.Q,…lots of good horses…this was for sure anyones race

Poor Skip. I love skip away, its too bad he didn’t win. Still a great horse! One of the closest races I’ve seen!

Grindstone was hurt this race n managed to close so fiercely, what a horse

the reason Grindstone didnt run in the Preakness was cause he never won the derby in the first place!!!!…Cavoneer won this race hands down and I cant believe you people cant see that!!!!…try slo mo…..no business like show business!!!

  15. vavs3311 Says:

u must be watching the wrong show business, cause clearly if u go try and find urself the photo finish…the answer is clear as day.

I bet Cavonnier with confidence on this day. I still have a hard time accepting that Grindstone beat him. I’ve been to many Derbys, and it took the stewards about 8 minutes to sort this one out. Man I loved Cavonnier, after his Santa Anita Derby. But I gotta hand it to Grindstone/Bailey…masterful ride.

This was the most memorable Derby for me. I bet Cavonnier and was so disappointed that he lost by such a small fraction, but they were two amazing horses.
