2011 Breeders’ Cup: Beauty and Baffert Look to Steal Classic
An unlikely combination seeks their first taste of Breeders’ Cup Classic (Grade I) success on Saturday when trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Chantal Sutherland team up with Game On Dude in the million 1 1/4 mile race that highlights the Thoroughbred World Championships at Churchill Downs this weekend. The Hall of Fame trainer ranks fourth all-time in Breeders’ Cup earnings with .7 million, but despite winning a total of seven Breeders’ Cup races along with three Kentucky Derby scores; he’s been shutout in seven Classic attempts. “I never dreamt that in my life,” said Baffert of the possibility of winning his first Classic with a female rider. “It’s exciting for Chantal. dynamite interview… for a horse racing fan like myself watching this video was a real treat…
however, my pick for the Classic is Uncle Mo…I was at Belmont for his last outing and he looked like he could run forever….
