Best defense in college football?
im a buckeye dude an have been impressed with my team so far especially our defense but i want to know your views. before the season started most critics tabbed usc as having the best defense in college football but ive been watching all there games so far an i have to say they dont sure dont look like it. lsu on the other hand looks great especially with their d-line. all i know is that defense wins championships and who ever that is they will take it. i just know for damn sure it aint gonna be louisville.

I’ts hard to answer this question right now, because alot of teams haven’t really played anyone that could challenge them. Oklahoma and LSU have played some good defense, but nothing that has been lights out. Everyone who has played Notre Dame has looked incredible. It’s hard to judge a SEC defensce since the offences in the SEC are lights out. The best that I have seen so far, would be West Virginia’s D. But that still doesn’t mean much, because what O have they played. Really, how impressive is it to hold ECU to 7 points?

LSU has played lights out defense. That is why they shut out two opponents. USC gives up too many yards and points to be considered the best. The stats are only as good as the score and it is clear that LSU is tops in that department.

I have to say LSU by far the best Defense right now. Close second is USC though.

I would have to say LSU has the best overall defense, eventhough Oklahoma looks awful good too. I just think the caliber of teams LSU has played so far is a little better than that of Oklahoma.

LSU #1, OU #2, USC#3. The difference between those teams is OU’s offense is much better than LSU, and better than USC.

Ohio State looks impressive in points allowed.
Everyone likes USC, and LSU, but i watched Iowa last night and they have a pretty good team of unknowns. Ok, everyone laugh now so i can continue.
Watch out for # 43 . He could be the next Brian Urhlacher.
