How do you handicap football games (Sports Betting)?
I am just wondering what statistics/tendencies to look for when handicapping a football game. Obviously if you have a magic formula you won’t give it to me for free (but you can if you want haha), but what are some things you HAVE to look for when trying to pick a winner against the spread? Thanks! Smart-azz answers are definitely welcome, but hopefully I get some helpful ones too.
Oops sorry…. I meant American football, like NFL and NCAA football

You will find helpful information and help at http://www.GamblingReviewsSite.com During football season there are tons of picks posted on the ‘free picks’ page. The free picks record is always a winning record, and the best thing is there is no service to pay for. In fact, there is nothing to pay for. Just cash in! See you there.

Look for value, a value is when you see a bet that you think deserves better odds(at least you think it
) so you go for that pick. An example, if Manchester are 2.0 to beat Chelsea but you think the real odds are 1.8 then you take the bet. Of course there is no formula how tocalculate the odds, just think a formula of yourself.

all people who do is – mostly the pretenders act like it really IS a magic secret formula like they spend hours and hours brewing a witches stew and trying to create the perfect chemical formula that translates to 5-0 on Sunday in the NFL
its not rocket science, but its not to say its easy, because you have to balance teams talent, human tendencies, combined with the human game of chess between bookmaker and public.
All of these things are easy in some way because they are simple to understand the jist of it, combining everything together to decide when to bet favorite and when to bet underdog and win more than you lose, is VERY hard to do!
its not as simple to say bet the good teams they will win and cover, and bet against bad teams because they will not! While this is true more good teams cover than bad teams, you have to know how to recognize situations that make it MORE likely for good team to win big and more likely bad team either is very over matched or has no motivation to play!
Motivation is a big angle in sports, especially football where the season is short. Teams can really vary from one week to another based on either what happened the previous week, or what hopes to do a week from now!
In general you win more on underdogs than you do favorites because the public LOVES favorites and the bookmaker inflates the price making it that much harder for them to win AND cover consistently!
Revenge is a good thing to keep track of, but some people make it to mean more than it should!
Turnovers is one of the biggest stats to keep track of, teams that are BAD at holding onto the football have a hard time covering football games!
Obviously theres always more info you can go on, the good thing about sports betting is you can get creative, there is never a shortage of angles to study and compare how teams fare under X Y Z circumstances!
Hope some of this helps
Good Luck:)
