Kentucky Derby 136 – Super Saver Wins.(2010)Jockey Calvin Borel

May 3rd, 2010 | admin | How To Win At Sports Betting

Super Saver Wins 136th Kentucky Derby Jockey Calvin Borel rode Super Saver to win the 136th Kentucky Derby on Saturday, his third win in four years. The win ended trainer Todd Pletcher’s Derby drought. Pletcher came into the race 0 for 24, but Borel’s record-breaking win put Super Saver and the trainer in the winner’s circle at Churchill Downs. No jockey has ever won three races in four consecutive years — until now. Super Saver covered the 1 1/4-miles in 2:04.45 as the second-choice behind Lookin At Lucky. www.nbcnewyork.com

Bo ‘RAIL’ is a great jockey but I’m not so sure I agree with him that Super Saver will win the Triple Crown…Not very sure he has it in him…Ice Box had a bad start & not so great trip & still almost took it…I’d keep an eye on him if he’s in the next 2…Another furlong might have made a BIG difference ! ! !

  2. berrypainter Says:

Nice strong colt….he owes it all to Borel….he got the rail, then he got the colt to relax off the pace and then he practically fell off the horse to get the lead change at the top of the stretch……good horse, great rider……nice race…..

  3. sewageable Says:

He won because of an awesome ride! Oh, sorry I meant he won because of all those steroids Pletcher pumped him full of that morning.

  4. sewageable Says:

This horse isn’t going to the Belmont. It’s going into rehab…

Im from Owensboro,KY and Ive NEVER understood what the big deal is about horse racing, im not bashing it what so ever. can someone explain why people are so obsessed with it, I mean what makes it SO appealing to people.

  18. 8ballchamp69 Says:

@Killjoy9930 MONEY duh…to me its all about the thrill of researching the horses and watch em make that final turn!! if you’re not gambling on it then I can see why you wouldn’t care. Throw in a couple cheap bets and you’re loving it! unless your tight with your cash

  19. djgookstah Says:

I REALLY wanted that horse who sprinted the last 40 meters to win. Wow that was fast!

  20. maddiejotilley Says:

i hope SS wins the triple crown

  21. fourtwentysevensohc Says:

Borel is something else. How can you not love that guy. And I so want SS to win the Trip Crown. . . but I’d put my money on Ice Box (#2) in the Belmont (longer distance) based on that crazy stretch run. HOLY CRAP! He’d have won if his jockey didn’t have to make three lateral moves and swing 20 yards to the outside before hitting the nitrous. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a horse close like that on a clean track, much less the mud.

  22. fourtwentysevensohc Says:

@djgookstah . . . no kidding. That was just as impressive as the winner. He had to go almost into the grandstands to get a clear run, and still went off like a rocket. Ice Box in the Belmont if he can do that again.

  23. nnamdi512 Says:

the horse that came in second went really really fast at the very end
what im talkin about starts and 2:04

  24. rebecca11391 Says:
