Someone I know said *Man! 50 to one odds, coming from dead last to win by 7 lengths in the stretch? A horse that cost only $9500? The owner drove 21 hours to get there, dragging a small horse trailer behind a pickup?*

if he wins preakness i am going to cry. Its a real cinderalla story. birdstone son wins two legs of crown or al of them. Bless heart! Hes a big boy, good legs, and a beautful stride

great video. It’s funny the way the announcer says Mine That Bird . . . as though he can’t believe it. I love it when geldings win and a small, sweet horse, too. The horse was great after winning when the jockey was being interviewed. Such a peaceful little guy. BEST WISHES to those great champion!!!!

I just watched this video for over 30 times trying to figure out where Mine That Bird came from.
What a thrill it is to see him cutting across to sneak inside and take the lead.
That is outstanding riding work by Mr. Borel.

The announcer didnt even mention the horses name until he was a few feet from the finish line.

The owner didn’t drive the horse, the trainer did, from right in my hometown of Bloomfield, New Mexico.

the announcer almost forget to mention him at the start of the run because the bird is too far back…everybody though will mention mine that bird from now till then….

That was such a beautiful thing to see. All the people that didn’t believe in Bird, Well this shows them that he can do it. I’m so proud of Bird. He’s such a good boy!

Calvin Borel should not have jumped off this colt. It does not matter that the filly could be better, you stay with the Derby winner!! I hope ” the bird” out runs Rachel.

I hate when they give all the credit to the midget jockey! That horse had heart . Horses are competitve and can get angry so i think more needs to be said about the character of this horse!
