Run for the Roses - Kentucky Derby futures players, how are you looking going into the weekend?
Pool 1: I had win on Midshipman and Notonthesamepage - looks like a "book marker"
Pool 2: win on both Imperial Council (out) & Dunkirk (alive)
Pool 3: win each on Desert Party, Fresian Fire & Quality Road
Edward, Big Jim - yes, seems to be a bad bet, that’s why I only bet -5 on small flyers. I don’t plan on retiring after this weekend on mine

I have Friesan Fire alive from pool 1 at 14-1 and Papa Clem at 44-1. I had 3 more pool 1 bets but those horses are out with injuries. I wish I had taken I Want Revenge at 54-1.
Truthfully, Friesan Fire will be around the same price on Derby Day. Papa Clem will be a little lower. But if either horse wins, I’ll be making a fair amount of money.

I think the order of finish will be:
1st I WANT REVENGE
2ND QUALITY ROAD
3RD DESERT PARTY
4TH REGAL RANSOM
5TH DUNKIRK
If scratches, move other horses up in rank.
P.S. I Have no idea of the odds at this time.
It will effect how I bet, when I find out.
I don’t think there will be a runaway winner for this race.
Exacta’s and Trifectas should pay well.
Why these picks?
I try to ignore the odds, and other’s choices, and emotions must be thrown out the window, for example, don’t bet a horses name because it’s one of your friends, girlfriends name etc, etc. Only bet the facts, and don’t bet yourself into bankcruptcy. Good Luck All

Future wagers are a sucker’s bet. The odds are good enough on Derby Day, and at that point you get a refund if there’s a scratch. I learned my lesson when Brother Derek drew post 17. I think his race day odds were better than what I got in the future pool.

I have to agree with Edward K on the future’s bet being a sucker bet.
