Uncle Mo, Stay Thirsty work for Super Saturday
2010 Juvenile champion Uncle Mo (4f, 46.57) and G1 Travers winner Stay Thirsty (4f, 47.07) worked Sunday morning over Belmont Park’s training track in preparation for their upcoming engagements on Super Saturday, October 1. Trainer Todd Pletcher was pleased with both moves as Uncle Mo heads to the G2 Kelso and Stay Thirsty points to the G1, 0000 Jockey Club Gold Cup Invitational.

It’s great that Pletcher has Uncle Mo back to what appears to be 100% healthy again, and has him firing bullet works for the Kelso Stakes. But you’re not going to prepare Mo for any kind of meaningful run in this year’s BC Classic by running him in 7 and 8f prep’s. Mike Repole’s ego and selfishness has Pletcher trying to prepare Mo for a race he truly won’t be ready to compete in until next season. The BC Dirt Mile is the obvious choice for Mo this year, IMO.
