Mostly used in football. Bottom line is you pick multiple games, and get added points added to the teams you pick, but you have to win all the games. Because of the added points, the games look so good, it’s a tease.

For example, you might find the Packers -8 vs the Lions, and the Cowboys -7 vs the Redskins.

Well, you could do a 6 point Teaser on the Packers and Cowboys. Then GB is only -2, and Dallas only -1 (because you are getting 6 points). Looks tempting, doesn’t it?

Depending on the site will depend on the odds you give up on these types of bets. They are sucker plays… but I admit I will do them once in awhile.

Teaser Bet -Special type of parlay in which the bookmaker gives you the option to adjust the spread (football or basketball) or total of the game in exchange for a lower payout.
Let’s look at a couple of football lines.
    NewEngland(+10) @ Indianapolis(-10) Cincinnati(+3) @ Pittsburgh(-3)
In football we have the option of a 6, 6.5, or 7 (NBA Basketball we have the option of 4.5, 5, or 5.5) point teaser with varying prices. Let’s say we decide to bet a 7 point teaser. In the first game we could bet NewEngland +17 or Indianapolis -3. We can move the spread 7 points in either direction. For the second game we could choose Cincinnati +10 or Pittsburgh +4. Looks like an easy wager to win. The problem is the price of a 2 game 7 point teaser is going to be around the -120 range whereas we could bet the original spread of either single game for just -110 or better. Teasers can be from 2 to 6 games with varying prices. If you are to push one of your games in a teaser it is considered a push regardless of the outcome of the other games. I believe this is standard among all books. Check with your book to be sure. Most books also offer football super teasers. The 3 Team 10.5 teaser and the 4 Team 13 point tease as well as the 7 point basketball teaser. Be careful as a lot of books (not all) grade a push on any super teaser game as a loss. Leg - they are sucker plays because most degenerates dont know how to play them….lol

you get 6, 7, or 10 points in your favor -

2 team 6 point teasers that pay even money are not a bad deal - you can find good value spots if you pick your spots

if you are playing 3 to 8 team teasers - you are risking more than the payoff is worth - and in that regard it is a sucker bet!

if you look at a teaser card on any weekend - most weekends ONLY about a 1/3 of all games the teaser makes a difference meaning the final score pushed 6 points in the direction you bet will change your bet from a loser to a winner.

Most games the SU winner covers the spread by 6 points

This means knowing what games to bet Straight up against the spread is more important over all than trying to figure out how to beat teasers……..

    Good Luck:)

  4. Agent Cracker Says:

Teasers are bets that are offered in football and basketball betting, which are quite similar to parlays, in that all of the teams selected must win in order for a bettor to win their wager. A single loss on any one game makes the entire bet a losing one.

There is one major difference between teasers and parlays, however, and that is the bettor is allowed to move the point spread in any direction they like on a particular game. For example, if the Bears are favored by 10 points over the Dolphins, teaser bettors would have the option of moving the point spread in either direction, and could make the new point spreads for the teaser bet the Bears -4 or the Dolphins 16.
