what is a word for a person who are sure that the end is coming?
Like someone who always thinks the worst is coming or is here and can’t accept that things aren’t really that bad because they’re so used to things falling apart?
I’m going to be using it to describe how many Redsox fans are acting. In baseball, the redsox had a 14.5 game lead over the Yankees. Now, 2 weeks later and it’s been cut to only 7.5 This is sitll a very wide margin but many sox fans are throwing theirselves over the cliff… saying stuff like "the season is over, we’re never going to beat the Yankees now" or "this is pathetic, the same as always. We need to start rebuilding the team now and plan for next year".
Now I’m not looking for a common word like pessimistic or downbeat. Looking more for something on the grand scale of things. So think pessimistic on steroids lol Something like destructionalist (which I just made up). I know the kind of word I’m looking for exists because I’ve heard it before. Any ideas?
Gonna go with Fatalist. Thank You^^ And yes I know that it is still early. But I frequent tons of popular baseball blogs and forums. I know it’s not everyone but there are a TON of people(sox fans) forseeing a collapse. As a Yankee fan tho I’m not getting ahead of myself because we have a long way to go to catch up still and the redsox can turn it around just as easy *knock on wood*.

Fatalist. Although I have to disagree with your statement because I, as a life long Red Sox fan, have not given up hope. It’s only June. My hopes generally don’t die until around late August, early September. There’s still time. Go Sox!!!
