what kind of algorithm do people use to make college football point spreads?

i was just trying to figure out how so often the point spreads are so close to the actual scores.

    No algorithm, it’s all about money. The bookmakers set a spread and if they’re getting too much money on the team whose getting the points, they decrease the point spread to get more money in on the other team. Bookmakers want approximately equal amounts bet on both teams.

    i dont know how they do it but its unreal how close they get to the score most of the time. There is no algorithum, i do know that
